About BIT Mesra
Founded in 1955 by the visionary industrialist Mr BM Birla, the BIT Mesra is a government-funded technical institute (GFTI) located in Ranchi. In 1986, BIT Mesra was declared as a deemed university. For the academic year 2025-26, BIT Mesra admission to its various courses opened in the period of March-May 2025. The diploma in Engineering admission in BIT Mesra was underway till August 27, 2025. Additionally, the students have access to a Central Instrumentation Facility and a Central CAD Facility. Furthermore, there are auditorium facilities on campus.
- Medical Centre: With numerous facilities, the medical centre at BIT, Mesra is well-equipped. Fully operational, the BIT, Mesra Dispensary is a medical facility. It has 20 beds total, including 2 isolation wards with 8 beds each, and is open 24/7. Facilities are available for emergency cases, IPD, and OPD. In addition to 20 paramedical employees, 5 allopathic physicians, 1 homoeopathic physician, and visiting specialists such as a dentist, physiotherapist, eye specialist, skin specialist, and gynaecologist are present. Four ambulances with oxygen cylinders and first aid kits are on call around-the-clock. Additional medical facilities consist of a dressing room, an ECG unit, and an X-ray unit.
